How does ShopMadeInChina's buyer protection work?

Contact the seller and work out a solution with the seller.

If your problem is still not resloved, You can file a dispute 5 days after your order has been shipped If no agreement has been reached in this time, you can escalate your dispute to claim with 3 days after your initial Dispute Request.

We'll work with the seller to help resolve the issue.

Our dispute specialists will be in contact with both sides of the dispute in order to mediate your claim. The final mediation decision will be based on the evidence provided and decided within 15-30 days.

  • 2. Do I need to apply for an Escrow account?
    You don't need set up an Escrow account to buy on ShopMadeInChina. You can simply pay using your Visa or MasterCard.
    The Escrow service on ShopMadeInChina, is a third-party online payment platform. Transactions are completely secure because payments are only released to suppliers after you confirm you have received the items you ordered and are satisfied with the item.
  • 3. Do I need to pay transaction fees when using Escrow on ShopMadeInChina?
    Escrow is a free service that protects your payments during transactions. There are no transaction fees for purchasing products when using Escrow on ShopMadeInChina. To learn more about Escrow, please click the following link:
  • 4. How do I know whether a supplier accepts Escrow or not?
    All suppliers on ShopMadeInChina should accept Escrow payments. We also advise you to use.
  • 5. Why I cannot pay online successfully?
    Payments by credit card may fail for reasons, including authorization and fraud prevention systems. If you have trouble making payment using your credit card, we suggest contacting your credit card issuer directly.
    Useful information for credit card payments:
    1) Currently, we only accept payment via personal Visa or MasterCard Credit Card (excluding company issued credit cards)
    2) Ensure your card issuer supports and has activated your 3-D Secure Code (Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code). The Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code is not the short numeric code printed on the back of the card. If you have not activated your 3-D Secure Code yet, please contact your card issuer to activate this service.
    3) Please ensure there are sufficient funds in your credit card to cover payments.
    4) Always double check payment information before you proceed with any transaction.
  • 6. How do I to cancel an order?
    You can cancel your order before the supplier ships the order. You also need to contact the supplier and reach an agreement to cancel the order. To cancel your order online:
    1) Sign in to My Active Orders
    2) Click on the order you want to cancel
    3) Click 'Cancel Order'
  • 7. How long does it take to refund money to my credit card?
    Please note that refund will be credit back to original funding source. According to credit card issuing bank policy, it will take up to 30 days to for the refund funds appear on credit card statement.
  • 8. Is it safe to pay suppliers offline?
    For your security, all suppliers are requested to accept our safe Escrow transaction service on ShopMadeInChina. We definitely do NOT recommend using payment methods other than Escrow. If you pay suppliers offline, your payments are NOT protected.
    If the supplier continues to ask you to pay using methods other than Escrow, please report to us.
  • 9. Can I combine orders in my Shopping Cart to save on shipping cost?
    Currently, you cannot combine orders for shipping in your Shopping Cart. However, if you have ordered different items from the same supplier, you can contact the supplier to combine the items you have ordered into 1 shipment to save on shipping costs.
  • 10. How are shipping costs calculated?
    Shipping costs are calculated based on shipping method (air, sea or land) and product weight / volume. Different shipping companies have different rates, so it's best to check and compare which is most affordable and economical. For more details on how shipping costs are calculated, please contact the supplier directly.
  • 11. Some suppliers offer Free Shipping on ShopMadeInChina and some don't. Why?
    ShopMadeInChina suppliers have the option to offer free shipping to buyers. When suppliers offer free shipping, the supplier pays the shipping costs.
    To find suppliers that offer Free Shipping:
    1. Enter the name of the product that you are looking for in the search bar.
    2. In the search results page, locate the country where you want the item to be shipped to in the Free Shipping search option.
  • 12. Who is responsible for customs duties?
    Product prices displayed on ShopMadeInChina do not include import duties, taxes and/or other customs related charges. Buyers bear all responsibilities for any extra charges incurred (if any).
  • 13. The item I received is different from the item I ordered: what should I do?
    If you find the items you received are different from the items you ordered; or you are not satisfied with the condition of the items delivered, please DO NOT click the "Complete order" button. In these cases, we suggest that you click the "Open dispute" button to notify the supplier about resolution. If you are unable to reach an agreement you can escalate your dispute to ShopMadeInChina.Please click "submit to ShopMadeInChina" botton, All decisions made by ShopMadeInChina are final.
  • 14. I can't track my Order using the tracking number provided. What can I do?
    If you can't track your Order using the tracking number provided:
    1) Please contact the supplier to confirm whether they have provided you with the correct tracking number. Please also check if they have changed the shipping information. You can contact the supplier using our Messager Center, or click Ask Seller a Question in the supplier's product listings page to send them messages.
    2) Please contact the shipping company to confirm if the order was dispatched. Sometimes shipping companies take 1-2 days to update new delivery information on their website.
  • 15. How do I edit my shipping address?
    To edit your shipping address:
    1) Sign in to My Account.
    2) Select "Company Profile"in My Account section.
    3) You can modify your current addresses by entering the required information.
    Note: You cannot modify a shipping address once you have placed the order already.
